Overview
Nuuvi is an app with a variety of functionality that is purchased by universities to increase meaningful connections in the student college experience through social engagement.
Objective
We were tasked to find an area of opportunity within the broad scope of remote learning. We had to consider the effects of the pandemic as well as how things will return to normal in our solution. We chose to focus on ENGAGEMENT as our topic of interest.

Affinitization
The affinitization process was key in leading us towards ideating for our concept. We began with 600 yellows and eventually ended up with 20 greens.

5 Whys
In order to focus our thinking and extract the core issue we were trying to solve from our data, we conducted this exercise.

HMW foster communication and interaction in a digital environment?
HMW use technology to personalize the learning experience?
HMW facilitate meaningful collaboration in a virtual environment?
Card Sorting
Open card sorting sessions enabled us to gain fresh perspectives from users on the labeling and organizational structure of our platform. Users were given key parts of our solution to sort on individual sticky notes.

Lo-fi User Testing
For our first round of user testing we recruited 8 participants, focusing on the areas of navigation, organization and labeling in our app.
Navigation
Problem
All pages had to be accessed through the hamburger menu, so there was not quick access to important pages
Solution
The three main pages are displayed in the global navigation, while the hamburger menu for is used for secondary pages

Groups
Problem
How to navigate to the groups page was unclear, as well as the labeling
Solution
The Groups icon was moved to the global navigation bar. Labeling changes to “My Groups” and “Potential Groups”.
Search
Problem
Filter page is an extra step,
and having a separate results page is confusing.
Solution
Search filters are optional. Results are displayed all on one page for ease of use.

Hi-fi User Testing
For this stage of testing we recruited 5 users and 1 expert to evaluate our app. After making some final changes based on the feedback, here are our app screens!
